Pied Avocet chick (Recurvirostra avosetta)

I revisited them this morning. Despite the wind and rain the Avocets performed well giving exceptional close views. I think they're so used to site vehicles passing by that they totally ignore them even when one pulls up alongside. It's amazing how much they've grown in seven days. This one is 20 days old. Bored with walking they're already exercising their wings making short hops of 8-10' - wind assisted ;)
