Avocet chicks - at 33 days old (Recurvirostra avosetta)

These are the younger chicks by four days from the two lots that bred locally for the first time in over 200 years. All four from this family made it through to fledge. We thought they'd moved to another area but last night both families were back on their usual pools. It appears that during the day they're exploring further a field but still returning to roost over night in their usual place.

Nice to see em Ian, it looks like these ones have survived, and doing good, sweet shot.
 
This makes a lovely picture Ian, a super composition, they are such beautiful birds.
