Snail Kite in flight (Rostrhamus sociabilis)

As the day progressed, I tried getting some flight shots with the fz200. It's a bot slow to focus and what with hand-holding at full zoom + converter I was surprised that some of the flight shots turned out fairly well. I like this one, although it could be much sharper. What it lacks in sharpness it makes up for (for me) by showing the landscape we were travelling through.
Habitat
partly flooded fields
Location
Entre Rios, Argentina

Scientific name
Rostrhamus sociabilis

A wonderful inflight capture with a view of the habitat as well ...
Tfs three lovely images, Ann ...

You did well, Ann; great flight shot in habitat. (I thought the FZ150 had pretty fast AF, but it was never easy to get a flight shot. It wasn't the AF speed that was the problem, it was a EVF... too small and lagged at times, so I'd often lose the bird in the viewfinder. )

I struggle with focusing flight shots too, so focus on something else that I think is around the same distance. Then move the camera to the bird (if I can still find it LOL)

You've done so well with this one - a super bird that, isn't he.

I'd say you've done very well here,Doc. Not easy to take good flight shots with a bridge camera. This is great and in a very nice and interesting setting too.

Well done on this one, Doc !!! A brilliant inflight capture. Thanks for sharing three superb posts.
Best Wishes.
