Speckled Wood and May blossom. (Pararge aegeria.)

There are quite a few of these around at the moment and the Hawthorn is just going over. I painted this to remind me of a particularly fine show of blossom this spring. I admire the tenacity of this species of butterfly as it never lets anyone pass by without a challenge. Hope you like it?
