Sword-billed Hummingbird
Quite ridiculous hummingbird with the longest bill in relation to its body size of any bird in the world. Found in and around montane forests in the temperate zone of the Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia, from around 2,500m to 3,500m.

We saw this species at several sites but this individual was another one of the outstanding birds enjoyed at the Zuro Loma reserve near Mindo (Pichincha/Ecuador).
