The Razorbill

The Razorbill (Alca torda)

This individual I came across on a cliff ledge. Nearby were Kittiwakes, Shags, Puffins and Guillemots. All around was the sound of sea birds their different calls, the sound of the sea and a lot of flight action as birds launched themselves and flew out to sea.

I thought I would try and produce this portrait image of the Razorbills face, striking white lines and short, deep blunt bill.

The masked avenger ... in your shoes I'd dare not venture again on that cliff alone ;) ... stunning portrait, well done!

Excellent capture...I thought the thumbnail was Darth Vader from Star Wars!!

Thanks to you all for your comments. Its amazing how a photograph can trigger such imagination!!! I think the Razorbill's face is kind of scary and I did wonder what it was thinking at the time? Look at those eyes.

Great shot Dean, I thought he looks like Robocop from this angle!
