Wheatear

Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe)

Since I concentrate on urban Peregrines and trying to find Black Redstart from March to August I get little opportunity to do anything else so my portfolio is a bit thin. I have spent several days on Holcombe Hill targeting migratory moorland birds before they are gone. My legs and lungs are no good at walking up those hills...I am exhausted. So I'll be out the house in a few mins and back again by 9.00pm exhausted ...but I love it!
This is a bird in a landscape type image and when such images work I prefer them to close ups. The trouble is they rarely work well because all the elements have to come together which they rarely do. The image is full frame.

I like to see this sort of images Adi, although I'm pretty crap at taking em meself mate...You keep them legs pumping up them hills, I only wish I could, unfortunately me lungs are not very good these days.

A beautiful image of a wheatear with a great setting and a lovely backdrop. The pose of the bird looking towards the empty space on the left works really well.

Looks to me all the elements are on your side here,Adrian. Shots like this are worth a dozen closeups imho. Excellent work!! :t:

A beautiful setting for this well captured Wheatear.

Are you a smoker as well?
