You can laugh human...this is not easy... (Pelicanus conspicillatus)

Australian Pelican

This Pelican was trying to groom its breast feathers. Again and again, it ended up grabbing a large section of its own breast instead of the feathers it was trying for...but eventually it succeeded. This must be a daily battle for a bird with such an unwieldy beak, I felt for it, because it was clearly quite a frustrating exercise.
Habitat
Large shallow waters - fresh, brackish and saline, coastal and inland; occasionally open sea; also islands,mudflats, sandspits. Common in suitable habitat. Dispersive, highly nomadic.

OMG! It's as if I could reach through the screen and stroke those feathers. What amazing detail in this shot!
 
Frustrating at times, but he is doing a fine job, those feathers are looking superb and so is your razorsharp shot, well done Rose :clap: :D :clap:
