It was in an awkward position, at the back of the leg, the wife wouldn't touch it. I had a few botched attempts at removal (2nd pic), always aware of the advice not to separate body from head and to not squash body. I failed, the wife didn't want me laid in bed with it still on, in case it jumped off on to her, so I went to local Emergency clinic at 11pm. The Doc was more interested in my camera gear, I'd taken it to show the close ups of what it was. Anyway they removed it intact using a loop of stitch thread looped under it and prescribed antibiotics for poss. Lymes disease.
