Confirmation please of Royal Tern with Ring-billed Gull from 1993 reject slides that I just found in a cupboard! Thank you in advance for any help. Much appreciated as always.P1100241.JPGP1100242.JPG

Why is this not a caspian tern? the shape and length of the bill does not fit the many I have seen of Royal tern here in the Caribbean .

I cant help with ID here, but I have yet to see a Caspian Tern with such a shaggy crest and bill shape doest look good for a Caspian, but I have underestimated variation in bils of Caspian before. Still, I dont see a Caspian here.

Crest too shaggy, bill colour wrong (too orange, even allowing for colour cast), gonydeal junction too far "up" the bill. Latter closer to halfway along bill cf Caspian where roughly 2/3rds along (again allowing for pic angle)
