4 CROSSBILLS just flew from the strip of coniferous woodland at Porter's Mill calling and headed towards Tapenhall.

Pretty sure I've just seen a Club-tailed Dragonfly on a hedge near Knight's Grove- bright yellow and black with an obvious club-shaped tail. Tried to photograph it but couldn't get close enough. Wouldn't expect one around here!

Hobby showed nicely. Treecreeper calling.

Pretty sure I've just seen a Club-tailed Dragonfly on a hedge near Knight's Grove- bright yellow and black with an obvious club-shaped tail. Tried to photograph it but couldn't get close enough. Wouldn't expect one around here!

Hobby showed nicely. Treecreeper calling.

Nice one Dave - not sure what a confusion species could be; perhaps female Black-tailed Skimmer but a very different shape.

I looked at some images of CTD online and they were identical to what I saw - the club-tail shape stood out.

Got this dragonfly feasting on a demoiselle on the Severn yesterday, just past Bevere Island. Is it a club tail?
