    Painted Bunting, Female

After trading cameras. This is the female. The male was never as pretty as when first taken - seemed to be molting, or something.

    Painted Bunting, Male

Taken last Spring. Not proud of results. Traded brand of camera soon after...but it does show the colors right well.

    Wild Parrots

Any idea what type they were? The Monk/Quaker do quite well in the wild.

    Male House Finch

Pretty little birds. I had one at my feeder this morning for the first time this season. He had his back to me but I hoped he'd turn around so held the shutter button down for about 17 shots...he never turned toward me and by the time the camera had written to card and I was ready to shot again...

This pose O.K., Mr. Bill? (Goldfinch)

No, Mike, my pet bird (Quaker) won't let me get this close! 3:-)

    Dove steadying fledgling on branch

The fledgling has just gone from nest to this branch in same tree and about 5 feet from the nest. The parent dove appears to be steadying it on the branch. Both flew off within minutes. For some reason the doves have used this same nest site for 5 years and it is located within 50 feet of our...

White-winged & Inca Dove, side by side

The White-winged dove is about same size as a Mourning Dove, maybe a tad larger, but the Inca Dove is small and not considered a 'game' bird because of small size. http://home.earthlink.net/~wsumrall/TempImages/WWing_IncaDove.jpg

    Another Goldfinch shot

    ;) Yes, but I'm lazy!

    Tufted Titmouse on seed bell.

The seed bell was store bought. Just using Oly 2100 but am close to subject - 5 feet or so, and shooting through a window. The main trick I use to get a good pose, etc. (since I can't anticipate a bird's action) is to hold shutter button down and get 17 rapid shots in HQ mode. Then I look to...
