    Some waders in Sri Lanka

    Perhaps of interest is that two subspecies of LRP occur in SL in winter, the migratory nominate dubius and the breeding jerdoni. As yours are juvenile it is hard to tell which, but adult jerdoni when in breeding (or coming in to breeding plumage) can look quite different - I have seen both...

    I think only two of the old R-naped occur in Kenya - Rufous-naped and Sentinel. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S205371662300021X Birds of Africa list the following locations in Kenya for Sentinel - C athi, Nairobi, Nakuru; for Tanzania, Lake Manyara, Arusha

    1 is Plain-backed 2-6 are African - 5 and 6 fresh so have broad buff-ochre fringes 11-17 are Rufous-naped Lark Many images on eBird for both African and Plain-backed Pipit are incorrect Brian
