what about the white strip around the crown, and the dark crown.
It's early in the season, the dark crown will get whitish later on. Indeed this is an individual with lots of dark on crown, though. By mid May most Pied's still have some grey on middle crown - as you might know, in wheatears the nice black-and-white "breeding plumage" is obtained by abrasion of feather fringes rather than a separate spring moult.
 
Sorry Lou, Avibase approved it as Cyprus Wheatear.

and when i went back to my sightings since 2007 it turn out that most of what i thought is male Pied are Cyprus, so i think they are not as rare as it was believed before. they are very punctual in there arriving dates, 2nd of March is one of those almost sure one can find them in Jeddah.

Who is "Avibase" ? It is a Pied W., trust the features given (here the pp) and experts such Brian and Lou. Not the applications or unknown people controling them.
