Hi All. Pocket Bino Experience Needed.

To be honest, the VP8x25 are probably sharper than many x32 instruments.

Hi All. Pocket Bino Experience Needed.

I have a Zeiss VP8x25. It's fragile, the diopter button is exposed, and it's huge compared to the 8x20. It's an easy carry, but not a pocket instrument. On the other hand the view is incredibly better. Edmund

SWAROVSKI AX VISIO: MY LEARNINGS IN A NUTSHELL

I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a stabilised version; the sheer quality of the optics really surprised me.

Hi All. Pocket Bino Experience Needed.

I’m using a Leica 8x20 on a trip now. It won’t compete with my 7x42 but it certainly provides views of seagulls and far ships and landmarks. The Trinovid has the huge advantage for me that infinity focus works without glasses in spite of my extreme myopia, and by any definition it really is a...

Hi All. Pocket Bino Experience Needed.

If you want a real pocket binocular, I suggest the Nikon Mikron - at least it does fit in a pocket. https://www.birdforum.net/attachments/p6060003-jpg.697235/ Edmund

    What is the Noctivid about?

Yeah, SF was ever so sharp but a bit green in the samples I tried. I prefer the Leica view, but there is room for everybody in the Alpha house :) Edmund

The mistake of buying an Ultravid HD+ 7x42

The OP summarizes my feeling: Once you get used to the 7x42 you don't want to use anything else. Edmund

Zeiss victory pocket model 8x25B*T vs. current 8x25 model

Yes I saw your post. Mine fell off too.

    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

I tried one at a dealer, wonderful optics, large, heavy, and a really interesting novel ability. If I were “price insensitive” and had a garden, I would have one my kitchen windowsill.

Zeiss victory pocket model 8x25B*T vs. current 8x25 model

I got a pair of 8x20 Trinovid as pockets to replace the use case of the Zeiss 8x25. They're definitely usable, built like a rock, and adjust well to my myopic eyesight so I can use them without glasses. The eyecups could be improved.

Zeiss victory pocket model 8x25B*T vs. current 8x25 model

The current Victory 8x25 combines extremely sharp optics, unusually sharp optics in fact, with a bad design. The result is bulky, the case is huge, and several people here have said they lost the diopter knob and had to send the instrument in for repair. Unless you really need exceptionally...

    New Release of Leica Trinovids?

Agreed. They are surprisingly good and much lighter. Edmund

    New Release of Leica Trinovids?

I think if you want an Alpha you should pay whatever Swaro or Zeiss or Leica demand, and if you want Kamakura optics with a western wrapper design and European assembly and QC you can get Conquest or Trinovid HD, but you might as well get Nikon. Great optics but lacking the clarity and immediacy...

Diopter wheel fell off from my Zeiss Victory Pocket

NL reliability anecdotes / info: I hesitate to link this here, but I think it’s worthwhile

Everyone has product failure happen to them from top brands of products - that's a normal part of life. When you have a bunch of people complaining about systematic failures, then the brand probably has a design issue they'd better fix. I think that as Swaro have a large body of experience...
