    Saw quite a few of these guys on my strawberry garden, the biggest ones are about 5...6mm long, there are some much smaller with about 2mm. Any idea of what it is? Thanks a lot.

    Not just the scope but photography itself, I haven't photographed anything for more than a year now. It wasn't an easy decision as I really love bird photography, but for now at least time doesn't allow me to keep this hobby. If anyone needs a complete scope setup I still have mine for sale ;)...

    I used a flatener on the TL APO 804. But I don't think it's is necessary at all, there was maybe a couple of birds shots that I made with it that could be improved by using the flattener, for the rest it's useless. That's for APS-C, because for m4/3 and smaller it a complete waste of money.

    Dan, I really can't agree with you here, all the scopes I used had near perfect bokeh. I’ve never seen any effect like that from my scopes. My 804 weights slightly less than 2.5Kg, but I removed the dual focuser knob, witch was about 130g.

    Dust doesn't surprise me that much, it was a real issue with the old 200-500, I had tons of dust with mine in the first week of use, I actually send that lens back twice in a year to be cleaned. I guess this is to be expected in a lens with such a long zoom range that is not completely weather...

    Sorry, but will disagree with some of what you wrote. A super telephoto lens doesn't focus much closer, a 500 F4 has a MFD of 3,7 meters, witch is roughly the same as my 480mm telescope at 3,9 meters. But the telescope has zero breathing so it gets a higher magnification factor in the end...
