    Dorset birding

    Coughed up lots of splendid cash to not see a Black-winged Stilt at Abbotsbury yesterday avo, in the rain. There was however a male Scaup present, I didn't rule out Lesser cos I'm a shocking amateur. Perhaps worth a peek if someone's local (and knows where to hop the fence). Cheers

    not so fast manc, there was a flock in putney only a couple of winters back. it's an invasion year and they can turn up pretty much anywhere, and london is after all fairly eastern. i still regret not catching up with the large flock (100+ from memory) that spent several days feeding on berries...
