    Sandpiper Barnegat, NJ 12-09-2023

This bird was on the Jetty acting like a Purple Sandpiper but looking like a Least without the brown on the breast. Any thoughts?

Flycatcher identification - Bombay Hook, Delaware 8/6/2022

There is discussion about the bird in these three picture. Some insist that is a Willow Flycatcher, others an Eastern Pewee. The Pewee camp says it has long wings, the Willow camp say it has a pale undertail cover and not enough smudging on the breast. Any thoughts? Thanks, John

Small finch type bird in Bavaria, off Main River, 06-18-23

This bird was near a bunch of Greenfinch, but I am thinking it may be a Serin. Not the best picture, but no yellow and a gray bill. Thanks, John

Raptor in Bavaria June 15, 2023

Thanks all, it has been helpful. I am going with Kestrel, I got one much closer today, so they are definitely in the area.

Raptor in Bavaria June 15, 2023

It was distant, and I thought Accipiter, but it disappeared so quickly. Merlin and iNaturalist both say Kestrel, but to me the wings don't look pointy enough, Falcon was not my initial impression, but it was a quick look. John

Raptor in Bavaria June 15, 2023

I saw this raptor at a distance and thought Sparrowhawk or Harrier. I got two distant pictures and neither seems to fit the bill, any thoughts? John

Shorebird Id's Pak Thale Nature Reserve Thailand 2/20/23

I really appreciate your help but want to be sure we are looking at the same bird, so I zoomed in much closer than I usually liked to. The bird in question is the only one in this picture with its head up and is heavily speckled. Thanks.

Shorebird Id's Pak Thale Nature Reserve Thailand 2/20/23

Two of these pictures are of the same group of birds. In one, there is a larger bird with its head up and a longish bill, somewhat near the center, possibly a Godwit. In the second, there is a small, speckled bird about 1/3 from the left edge and I am wondering if it is a Dunlin, it seems to...

Not very nice pictures, but possibly the bills can give a hint as to what they are. Thanks,

White-faced Plover? on Laem Phak Bia sand spit Thailand 2/19/23

Thanks, looking at the book carefully, the Malaysian does seem to have a higher forehead, I guess I missed the White-faced.

White-faced Plover? on Laem Phak Bia sand spit Thailand 2/19/23

My guide said this was a white-faced plover, but neither Merlin or iNaturalists agree, they call it Kentish. It does seem to have a higher forehead and whiter face than the other Kentish I saw. Which is this? Thanks, John
