    Dark martin sp in Salou

Hi, I was in Salou last week and while driving along the sea front one morning I noticed several dark martins flying around. They seemed like Crag or Rock Martins but we were in the middle of the resort with hotel/apartment buildings all around. I couldn't stop to get a good look...

I live in Tickton and the site is on my way to work so I usually try to call in en route and have a quick scan. 1 Wood Sandpiper this morning (23rd)

Very quiet on the moor at the moment. A few Shelduck around and an LRP but the last few days haven't yielded anything especially exciting and certainly not the hoped for Temmincks. Still plenty of muddy pools left though so there is time!

Overdosing on Wood Sands this spring! I had four yesterday (Sunday) while someone else has had up to five. A Greenshank is still kicking around too.

I've not been onto Figham. (It had Garganey last year) But looking on the map, it looks like there is a footpath across it: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=505500&y=439500&z=3&sv=505500,439500&st=4&ar=N&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf I would possibly park on the Beckside in...

Hi, Thought I'd post a thread for this underwatched East Yorkshire site that received recent publicity with the much-enjoyed Lesser Yellowlegs. It's on my route to work so I call in most mornings and some evenings for a 5 minute scan. 8th May 5.30pm - 6 Whimbrel, 1 Greenshank, Yellow Wagtail...

    Hoopoe in Rickmansworth

Just reported to the Bird CLub website: Hoopoe flew N just to the west of Rickmansworth station at 0735 and lost to view to north. Definitely worth keeping an eye out for if you are in the area.

    Flash problem

Hi all, Whenever I use the in-built flash of my Nikon CP4500, it flashes 4 - yes 4! - times, taking the picture on the 4th flash. This was amusing and puzzling to start with but is getting increasingly irritating! I suspect there is a setting somewhere that I've inadvertantly changed and I...

    4500 Firmware

Thanks for the input. I bit the bullet yesterday and joined the world of digiscopers! I went to Jessops and they price matched the Warehouse Express deal for a 4500, spare battery and flashdisk. The batteries are on charge now so I'll have a play tonight! Wish me luck :)

    4500 Firmware

Is this a genuinely serious problem with the CP 4500? I'm looking at buying one this week while Warehouse Express still have that offer on. Is there a big delay between pressing the shutter and the picture being taken? Cheers Gareth
