    D90 DSLR for videoscoping?

Any thoughts on this little beasty, it records 720p/24fps and can obviously use any Nikon lenses or adaptors to connect it to a spotting scope. Other handy thing is that it by pressing the shutter release it will immediately take a still. http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d90.htm I was...

Some digiscoping experiments with a dslr

Finally got around to trying out my D70 + Opticron ES 80 GA ED, coupled together using an Opticron TELEPHOTOADAPTER HDF 41110 (picked up for £35 on here). I made a cable release for the D70 using a £5 ebay IR remote and a bit of wire (15mins to build). The scope and adaptor give the following...

    Carrying the bigma?

I am goint to try and avoid carrying everything at the same time, but would be handy to hve room for some bulky but lightweight accessories. Thers £20 cashback on lowepro at the moment, gets the price of a nature trekker down to £120.

    Carrying the bigma?

Short of employing a Sherpa I am a bit stuck with how to carry the bigma attached to my D70. To do all that I want I am going for 2 bags, probably a nature trekker for carrying large amounts of kit, but I also want a holster type bag for carrying the D70 + bigma attached. The big bags going to...

    New Sigma "OS" lenses

Interesting. I just acquired a used bigma from here, but had been wondering about the 150-500 OS. I had expected the OS lens to be a bit lighter and more compact, so happy with my decision. If I was buying new then the OS lens would get my cash (depending on the end product), but used bigmas...

    Best DSLR with SD card.

From the articles I have read by some of the pro shooters on nikonians they tend to stick to CF for reliability. I have alos had a SD card fail, but all my CF cards are working fine. Have you got a spare PC card slot in your laptop? The adapter cost very little and mount internally so you cant...

    XP Home edition or Pro?

Home is fine for standard use, its only worth getting pro for certain types of network. The hardware change bit is if you use OEM rather than retail, OEM allows limited hardware changes, reatail allows chopping and changing.

    Nikon UR-E20 alternative available.

Heres the adapter in place, along with my first ever digiscope shots. The only reason my adapter is shiny is that I needed it ASAP for a trip to France. Very happy with the combo. ES 80 GA ED/45 20-60x HDF Zoom P5100 SRB Griturn adapter and cable release bracket Tempted to get another...

Humane way to discourage feral pigeons

Flying birds or prey can work, or putting up models of them.

    Nikon UR-E20 alternative available.

Hopefully my bits will turn up tomorrow then I should be set to go. I already have the eyepiece adapter and cable release, just waiting for the UR-E20 alternative. Found that the angled compact cable release also works on my D70, and with a T-Mount adapter the camera - eyepiece coupler should...

    Dusted off the D300

I am currently using an older version of capture, think I might concentrate a bit more on it before loading stuff in to PS. Will have a hunt around for a good price on NX.
