    Hi Jane, I recall seeing a similar turn of events whilst watching a Barn Owl hunting in Suffolk a few years ago. The Kestrel appeared almost as soon as the owl did, as if it was waiting for it. It did not take the owl long to catch something - at which point the Kestrel noisily chased it...

    Sibe Chiffchaff?

    I think there are now 2 or 3 Sibe Chiffchaffs there and the bird in the photo looks like one of them. Not technically classed as full species yet, but many folk count them as one.

    Roseate Tern?

    I would not waste your time trying for these at Larne Lough. Down to 1 breeding pair in recent years and only very distant views of breeding island available. I'm from Larne and I am yet to see this species around the Lough! Would also think you are highly unlikely to see them in Belfast...
