    Extenders (doublers, triplers, etc)

For a good extender the AFOV of the combination bino+extender is identical to that of the bino, thus the FOV of the combination can be approximated as in your post (the difference from the results obtained using the tangent formula is small, and even that formula is an approximation---the actual...

    Knacks, tricks and modifications

My solution to the same "problem" of EII 8x30 as described in your post is possibly simpler : use a tight rainguard (not the original loose rainguard that comes with the EII) thread the neck strap thru its eyelets and voila the EII hangs close to your chest (this solution also does not take...

SFL 50mm first look, first touch.

His "Meopta" is 10x42, he has no Swaro 12x50, and in fact he does not make any real comparison. In my opinion the Swaro 12x50 is a fantastic performer, and you can buy one in mint condition for about 1500$, so I would consider another 12x50 (such as Meopta or SFL) only if I did not like a flat...

SFL 50mm first look, first touch.

Let me get this story straight. I have been driving many years both in Sweden and the US and have never been pulled over in Sweden (and only once or twice in the US). In fact police cars were rarely seen in Sweden until a few years ago, these days they are a bit more frequently seen but no cop...

    Zeiss 7x50 bgat question

Yes, the 7x42 Dialyt (T*, T*P or T*P*) and the 7x50 (I own the rare gray Nautical version with compass) have identical eyecups; however the (rare) 6x42 Dialyt has different eyecups.

    Zeiss 7x50 bgat question

Somewhat interestingly, the eyecups of 7x50 and 7x42 are identical (and removable, as you have found out).

Which binocular(s) did you use today?

The SN of the gray 7x50 is on the ocular end under T*, and on the obj end of the black BGAT version. I am attaching a flyer with a brief description of the black model and the gray ones. The gray 6x42 model, which I also own, is called Skipper.

Which binocular(s) did you use today?

Zeiss 7x50 Nautical (gray) with compass and reticle---sharp and bright. This is becoming more of a (rare and expensive) collector item but I was on a ship and I had to use it.

Funny title! (I was thinking almost the same when I saw your photo). The blue tit is such a pretty little bird (the long-tailed tit is prettier but a bit less common here). TFS!
