Which binocular(s) did you use today? (7 Viewers)

Fantastic bino’s, bought these after the buying the 15x56’s. Stunning build and optics.
I totally agree, they do all the right things properly and just ‘work’! I would like the complete collection of all the big binoculars and hire a ‘Loader’ to pass me the necessary binoculars when I wanted them. As I said I kept this and jettisoned the Zeiss SF…some may say I’m crazy but they is the nuts!

They are fantastic bino’s, built like a brick sh*t house but with optics that are well up to the very top in the world.

I bought the 8x56’s after the 15x56’s, as both were on offer as Meopta effectively pulled out of the UK market. Tested them side by side against the Swaro 15x56’s on Woodbury Common and though a self confessed Swaro fan boy, the Meopta’s suited me better and optically they were neck and neck….and £1000 cheaper.

Actively seeking out other Meopta’s to add to the collection.

I got mine in the same place, optically they are incredible, tactile and very well built!

I really love your gorgeous green Leica ❤️
Thanks, it is a very nice shade of green so I couldn't resist buying this pair last year. Seem like Leica did not supply UV's in green for very long. I am glad that Leica made the effort to color match the rain cover and the objective lens caps, even if finding replacements might not be easy.

Used my Nikon 8 x 40 Action EX Porro today.
This binocular although not equal to my Leica UVHD+ or Zeiss Night Owl nevertheless gives a very enjoyable view , and has lasted longer than my expensive , overpriced Swarovski.
No more Swarovski's for me , once has been enough.

I tried the 7x35 version at Birdfair last summer and really liked it. Not the prettiest binocular to look at, but to look through ... But then Nikon don't just know their optics inside out but how to deliver really good image quality at a lower price.

Christ I wish it was easier to carry out a totally blind test (like the "Judgment of Paris") with binoculars!

I was recently blown away by just how good the Nikon 7x35 ATB is, especially considering it's low price. Punches well above its weight, I think I'll take it for a spin today.

Is the serial number of the nautical gray 7x50 on the objective end of the hinge? It's on the ocular end of the black version bga/t*?
Or is this gray a completely different Zeiss version?

The SN of the gray 7x50 is on the ocular end under T*, and on the obj end of the black BGAT version. I am attaching a flyer with a brief description of the black model and the gray ones. The gray 6x42 model, which I also own, is called Skipper.

It's a shame they pulled out of the UK market.
Meoptas are simply superb, easily up with Ultras in my opinion.
They must have a crap marketing dept, 'cos they just can't seem to shift them, even though they punch well above their weight.

I expect this market isn’t a priority at the moment, but you never know?!?

B&L Elites 8x42 got the call today when investigating the today's backyard visitors. The front focuser location is an ideal one when gripping the tubes round the objective ends. Just a great design.

Views were crisp and colorful, great pair to use on a bright snowy day.

But yet it's only a 6 magnification binocular, with no better FOV than that of the 7x. Is the Zeiss mystique that strong?
It's the 7mm exit pupil, ak prisms and inclusion of multi and phase coatings that means the performance should be similar to a modern optic. That, the look of the thing and it's potential for use under the stars that appeal to me.

Today I used my Swarovski CL Companion 8x30. It's my favorite for short walks without the heavy equipment. Excellent glass! Used for a short walk in the forrest! It's an excellent companion to my NL Pure 10x42 (used for the more "heavy work" )
