    I'm very impressed with the AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR

Neil, I have the Nikon 300mm F4 lens with 1.4TC combo. Besides the VR how does the 80-400mm compare. Although interested in this lens for my V1 (and D600) it is expensive and would really value opinions from this forum before deciding whether to buy (or not).

Nikon V1 Firmware Update Gives Af-c With Ft-1 Adapter

Just updated my V1 with firmware update v1.3 and FT-1 update v1.1 which now gives AF-C. Tried it out with AF-S lens and it works. About time!

    CUCKOO (GREY)

Heard the distinctive Cuckoo whilst walking through a busy local picnic site - it appeared in a small tree directly ahead of me. not the greatest photo but I had no cover and rather than approach the Cuckoo I took a few photos from where I stood. Luckily I had my Nikon V1 with 1.4x TC and...

What Lens & Eyepiece Combinations For Nikon V1

David - Thanks for your response. I think you may be right about the impact of an f1.8 lens. This highlights my initial question. With an FT-1 adapter and my 300mm lens with 1.4x tc I can achieve a focal length of just under 1150mm. Therefore, my digiscope focal length range must be...

What Lens & Eyepiece Combinations For Nikon V1

Hi All - I have just purchased a Celestron Regal 80mm and intend to use it with my Nikon V1 (I have 18.5mm f1.8 and 10-30mm variable aperture zoom lenses). My other interests include astronomy and I have a wide range of astro eyepieces including 21, 17 and 8mm Baader Hyperions and 14mm XW...

    Nikon V2

Ok, so my V1 is about 6 months old. It was purchased for nature photography using the FT-1 adapter - it did'nt take long to realise that not having Continuous AF was a serious issue. Now, it looks like the V2 does have C-AF. Can we now have a firmware upgrade for the V1 ....... or am I just...

    Leica Service

Hi Pimpelmees - not sure why you are challenging my post wrt dates. The quote for work on my Televid from Leica Germany stated the warranty was for 5 years. I have nothing to gain by giving out incorrect information. The main reason for starting this thread was to point out the likely costs...

    Leica Service

Pimpelmees - The date of registration was provided by Leica UK using the serial no. from scope ...... therefore I assume it is correct.

    Leica Service

Hi everybody. This is my first post and really a tale of woe - if only I read some of the threads on this forum. About 2 weeks ago I contacted Leica UK about a problem with my Televid 77 APO (it made a clacking sound when focused) and using the Serial Number we identified the Scope was...
