    Whats happening to the tree"s?

Thanks lads. Yes,it does look like cotton, with a brown disc on top {similiar to the eye you get on willicks}. Some of the trees Ive seen are so heavily affected, you cant see the bark.Very worrying. Thankyou, Steve.

    Whats happening to the tree"s?

Hi. Ive noticed just recently that ALL the sycamore tree"s here in Newcastle are absolutely covered in what looks like "white chicken-pox"on the bark and branches, I pressume its some type of fungus, its not just the sycamore tree"s either, although they seem the worst affected. Can anyone give me...

At last,I can answer my own question.I recently bought the Nikon 12x50SE and whilst panning during the daytime I detect no rolling ball effect what so ever. Thanks Steve. No problem Steve. Best Wishes Steve.

How do new, high-end binoculars compare to older Zeiss Jena bins?

I own the CZJ 8x30 Deltrintem and I used to own the CZJ 10x50 Dekarem. I have the Zeiss 7x42FL the biggest difference I noticed is the brightness of the Image and the complete neutral colour. If you were to compare the older CZJ to the new Zeiss FLs the CZJ will appear to have a strong yellowish...

I"ve had my 7x42FL for nearly 2 years and no problems have occured with mine. I recommend you send it in for repair. Shame about this, for this sort of money it shouldn"t be a problem. Steve.

    Field flattener lenses effect?

Thanks for all your replies. I wonder if this "Rolling Ball" effect is a bit like CA,in as much that some people see a lot of it and other people using the same binocular, don"t see it at all. Thankyou, Steve.

    Field flattener lenses effect?

Until recently, I didn"t realize that binoculars that use Field flattener lenses have a rolling ball effect at the periphery of vision.I found this out when reading a review of the Fujinon 10x50 in "Astronomy Now" magazine. I understand that the Nikon SE and HGL {LXL in U.S.A} range also use...

    Leitz 7x42ba v Zeiss 7x42bgat - Opinions?

Actualy Leif,Im wondering more about the 10x42FLs as I feel the difference between 7x and 8x is not all that marked, stepping up from 7x to 10x would be interesting. Im not a birder, the 10x would be great for Astronomy. Still no word on a 12x FL :C Take care, Steve.

    Zeiss 32mm/42mm edge performance?

Swaro aftermarket service : simply excellent

Those aftersales stories are fantastic and,it has made me think that a Swarovski just might be my next instrument of choice, probably a big SLC for Astronomy. The dog bone story reminds me of a true event that happened in World War 2 The British built a fake airport runway to mislead the...
