    great pics there patman great story to cant imagine looking out my window and seeing sumut like that ,but dont think i will here in england lol? No the scariest thing we get is an occasional Hedgehog - just a little bit different!!

    Siskins everywhere !

    send some up here matey!!! I've been trying for ages to get Siskin in my back garden - 2 or 3 visit the garden opposite every day. So if you would can ya send some, I've got greedy neighbours. I'll even send a stamped and addressed envelope. (only joking!!)

    Thanks for the reply. I suppose we should have looked for something fairly obvious as an answer. I wouldn't really say it was all that obvious, if ya don't know - ya don't know, but now ya do know for when people start getting smart a*sed!!!

    sounds like a great day. Ring tail Hen Harrier - refers to the bird being a female hen harrier

    found Blacktoft to be quite good! but make sure you've got loads of food and drink! it could be a long wait!!

    Butterflies in December!!

    Don't know if anybody else has seen any butterflies around at the moment, but I keep seeing the occassional Red Admiral flying around. Its great to see them at anytime of the year, but its extra special to see them in winter. :D Cheers John.

    What birds were common when you were young and now are rare?

    not exactly common - but there were definately more lesser spotted woody woodpeckers around even when I was younger. Haven't seen one now for years.

    I lived in East London for three years while I was doing my degree, and yes I expected to see a fair few spuggies..... but where have they gone??? It worried me so much I wrote my main 3rd year dissertation ( :scribe: ) on the little blighters.

    if we are talking about the rubber eye cups then eerrrr yes they are and can be fitted back, eerrrr really easily. if we aren't talking about the rubber eye cups then eerrr I don't know.

    seen plenty of times and can't wait to see again, but I do take great enjoyment out of seeing male Smew. Beautiful bird.
