North Norfolk coast - Last week of March

Managed to get a week off work have decided to spend 4 days staying at Brancaster Staith (last week in March) As relative beginner birdwatchers we would welcome advice on how to get the most out of 4 days birding in this area. Is this even a good time of year to visit? What especially...

    Wheldrake Ings

My wife and I recently joined Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and decided on Sunday morning to visit Wheldrake Ings Nature reserve. After a very pleasant walk in the November sunshine we suddenly realised how quiet it was. As we approached the hides we suddenly realised why - No water in any of...

    Fairburn Ings RSPB

Spent an excellent afternoon at Fairburn Ings yesterday. Immediatley after a couple of heavy squally showers the sun came out and had a lovely walk in the woodland area where recorded Willow Tit - (the differences between Marsh Tit were pointed out to me!) and then an hour or so in the...

    Pipits

Great views yesterday of 3 Water Pipits close to hide at RSPB Fairburn Ings in West Yorkshire. Although not a first for me - this was the best view I have ever had and able to sort clearly from Rock Pipit etc. Nice when you are not alone and experts confirm your opinion all the same!! Cheers

    Canon G5

Al Got to confess - I had no idea about the size of the Leica eyepiece matching the canon lens adapter when I bought the scope! Just decided to get the scope as it seemed to fit my criteria from a viewing perspective. Thought that I would spend some time improving my birding skills before...

    Leica 62 APO

I too bought APO 62 angled at the weekend. Been testing and deliberating for weeks and decided on bargain priced APO 77 - until last minute! - really think smaller size and weight of 62 will mean more use and therefore better value in the long run - 99% of image quality of 77. I preferred the...
