Inner Marsh farm or Marshside Marsh for Bird Photography

Hi I don't get that many opportunities to get out and about as much nowadays but I am free on Saturday and fancied doing some Bird Photography. I'm stuck as to where to head. Inner Marsh Farm (or Burton Marsh wetlands..whatever it's now called) or Marshside Marsh, Southport. I've not visited...

Recommended Spec for new PC for Photoshop CS5

Wow !! the words 'can of worms' springs to mind. Thank you for the many useful comments. It doesn't bother me about the debates that always start up on forums....Canon or Nikon........Apple IOS or Google Android.......PC or MAC......Leica or Swarovski....Bottom line it's all Personal Choice ;)...

Recommended Spec for new PC for Photoshop CS5

I'm about to order a new PC and haven't a clue what sort of spec to look for. I know I need at least 4GB RAM. I'm currently running 1GB on our 8 year old PC !! Just started to configure one online and the choices were unbelievable. I just need a few pointers really. First question - AMD or...

    Aurora BGA 8x42

Hi, my mate bought a pair of the Green Opticron Aurora 8x42's last week. He tried loads of different pairs of Binoculars and settled on the Aurora's. They were outside his price range but paid £680 for them. He used them at the weekend for just THREE hours and to be honest he can't get used...

Jessops poor customer service with Sigma 150mm f2.8

Hi Epi, I'm glad my experience has helped out someone. Yes it's definitely the last time I'll order anything off Jessops. Even last week the same lens was still showing as 'Collect at store' available, which obviously it wasn't. I really can't see Jessops surviving much longer with that...

Jessops poor customer service with Sigma 150mm f2.8

When I initially rang my local Jessops to ask why every other retailer had this lens in stock but they hadn't one in any of their shops, he told me that Jessops had struck a deal with Tamron. The deal was that they would keep more Tamron in stock than Sigma !! He then told me that 'Head Office...

Jessops poor customer service with Sigma 150mm f2.8

I actually managed to secure the last one at 'abc Cameras'. I only sent an email on Friday night to enquire if they had any in stock and received a reply today first thing to say they only had one left and they had put it aside for me till the end of the working day. Now that's what I call good...

Jessops poor customer service with Sigma 150mm f2.8

Hi Duke, thanks for the reply. I have checked Warehouse Express but they are out of stock and it would mean placing an order on back-order which I'd rather avoid after the Jessops fiasco. I know WE are a respectable company but when I rang them asking when they expected more stock the...

Jessops poor customer service with Sigma 150mm f2.8

After the experience I've recently had with Jessops I feel I need to write about it to hopefully warn others about the problems I've had. I purchased the Sigma 150mm f2.8 (Nikon-fit) £529 lens via their website on April 5th and chose the 6 month interest free finance option, so paid the £53...

Kenko Pro 1.4x but which one for 80-200 AF-D (Nikon)

Yes the 'grey' version I've seen is definitely Nikon-fit. I think the standard black Pro300 should be okay. I actually bought a Kenko Pro 300 1.4 a few years ago to use with my Sigma 500mm f4.5 but it was not good with that lens contrary to what you read about that combination, I then purchased...

Kenko Pro 1.4x but which one for 80-200 AF-D (Nikon)

That's great Jim, thanks for the reply. I thought it wouldn't matter but on one site I read that "you need to get the 10 contact version to let the camera know you have an AF-S lens fitted" but mine isn't an AF-S lens so that seems to make sense. Thanks again

Kenko Pro 1.4x but which one for 80-200 AF-D (Nikon)

I've recently purchased an 80-200 f2.8 AF-D and I'm wanting to use a 1.4x converter. I know I need to use either the Tamron or the Kenko Pro. I've seen there are two versions of the Kenko Pro. A grey/white version with 10 contacts and the black with fewer contacts. So which do I need to get or...

Outlook Express problems - can't open email

Something really weird has happened to Outlook Express, I can receive emails ok, but when I click on the header, nothing opens up in the preview pane, if I open the email fully, the header is there but the email is just blank. Even old emails that I open are blank now. I've done a Malware check...

    Orchid ID please

Thanks for the replies, the Orchid was taken on an old part of a landfill site near Crewe, Cheshire. It was a couple of metres away from a pond - if that helps !!! We also found about a hundred yards away a couple of Common Spotted Orchids.
