Orchid ID please (1 Viewer)

My mate found this Orchid today and asked me if I knew what species it was, I thought it might be a Marsh Orchid type. I'm sure it is easily ID'd but there are obviously hybrids to take into account.
Any ideas.
Probably a very common one.

Yhp i would agree its a Marsh Orchid but I don't now if its Northern or Southern.

Southern marsh for me too, at the darker end of the colour range for the species.

Northern often has slight darker markings on the leaves and the pattern is spread across more of the lip.

Tufty - usually helps to add where the photo was taken.

Thanks for the replies, the Orchid was taken on an old part of a landfill site near Crewe, Cheshire. It was a couple of metres away from a pond - if that helps !!!
We also found about a hundred yards away a couple of Common Spotted Orchids.
