Swarovski 8x25 CL-P best compact binocular?

Seems to me some of the contributors are missing the point of this binocular. It's not - of course - as tiny as an 8x20. The key feature is the double hinge, which means that it packs way smaller than a centre hinge 8x32, very useful if you're travelling as it takes up little room in the bag or...

Habicht 8x30 W, Nikon 8x32 SE, Nikon 8x32 Eii, Nikon 8x32 HG (XL for US i guess)

Hi. I collect and sell binoculars, mainly on ebay, and I've used all the binoculars you're thinking of. All 3 porro binoculars have a noticeably crisper image than the Nikon roof, and of course a more pronounced 3D effect. The Swarovski has one huge defect. As others have mentioned the focus...

    Nikon 8x32SE, 8x32EDG, Zeiss 8x42FL and Zen-Ray 7x36 ED2 at the OK Corral

zen ray glare (?) I recently (10/2010) bought a Zen Ray 7x36 ed. They seem to have cured the glare problem noted above. Better baffling? A very impressive binocular.

Pentax DCF ED really that much better that SP??

Pentax dcf ed 8x32 The Pentax 8x32 ED is a spectacularly good binocular: the image is satisfyingly sharp, colours are accurate and well saturated, CA is virtually non existent and everything about it adds up to a highly practical binocular that is a delight to use. The question isn't whether to...

    Swift Ultra 8x42?

Swift Ultralite 8x42 porro If you can stand the looks, the Ultralite 8x42 porro is a superb binocular. For quality of image, you won't do better at any price: bright, sharp, excellent colour rendition. The only optical limitation is the FOV at 341', though it feels OK in use. Very comfortable...

Review by 'vaughan8' on item 'Fury 6.5x32'

I bought these as a birdwatching / general purpose binocular. I've always preferred the steadier image of a 7x binocular, and am very pleased with these. Side by side they're obviously not as good as my Zeiss Victory 7x42, but there isn't 1000 difference between them - I'm perfectly happy with...

    7x36 and 9x36

I like 7x35s for general use, and can't understand why quality ones are like hen's teeth. Opticron BGA 7x36 currently about £240 at Warehouse Express (down from £399). Identical specs to Swift Eaglet - I suspect they're the same under the armour (focusing wheel, & dioptre also identical). Took...

    Opticron SR GA 8x32 poros

Best value going? Sherwood Photo have Opticron SR.GA 8x32s for jus £135.00. Mine arrived today and I'm seriously impressed: satisfying fov (144m), very sharp across most of the field, bright, good colour rendition. Tried them for astronomy this evening through gap in the clouds: pinpoint stars...
