Distribution
Eastern Africa: found in Tanzania and Mozambique.
Taxonomy
There are two subspecies[1]
- A. m. metopias (pallidus):
- Montane forests of eastern Tanzania to north-western Mozambique (Njesi Plateau)
- A. m. altus:
- Eastern Tanzania (Uluguru Mountains)
Has been placed in the genus Orthotomus but is now thought not to be related closely with the Asian Tailorbirds.
Habitat
Moist montanes.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of insercts.
