Male is almost entirely black
Distribution
South-east Asia: found in southern New Guinea (Trans-Fly lowlands)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Savannas, wetlands, marshes, riverine grasses, reed beds and occasionally rice crops.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists almost entirely of grass and rice seeds. Foraged on the ground or on the plant.
