Identification
Length 42cm
A large and very dark tinamou. Upperparts and breast black, throat and belly grey, undertail coverts cinnamon.
Distribution
Known only from two small and isolated areas; in Huila in southern Colombia and Cuzco in Peru. Rare in both areas, particularly in Colombia. Resident.

Humid forest.
