Distribution

West Africa: found in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon.

Taxonomy

This is one of the seven Sunbirds that have recently been moved into the genus Chalcomitra from the genus Nectarinia.

Subspecies

There are 2 ^[1]:

• C. a. adelberti:

• Sierra Leone to Ghana

• C. a. eboensis:

• Togo to south-eastern Nigeria
