Family: Corcoracidae
Description
Two species from Australia.
Both are similar in body proportions and are adapted for foraging mainly on the ground with long sturdy legs with feathered tibia and relatively short, rounded wings. They are no strong fliers. Like the two species of the genus Grallina they build a mudnest.
Taxonomy
Corcoracidae is a Family in the Order Passeriformes.
The family placement of both species has long been disputed. However, the different authorities all agree that they are closely related.
