Identification

• Mid brown cap
• Paler brown dark streaked upper back
• Brown lower back
• Long brown tail
• Dark iris
• Grey bill

Distribution

Eastern Africa: found in Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies^[1]:

• C. n. njombe:

• Highlands of southern Tanzania

• C. n. mariae:

• North-eastern Zambia and western Malawi (Nyika Plateau)

Habitat

High-altitude grassland.
