South America: found in southern Venezuela, Guyana, Bolivia, southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and north-eastern Argentina.

This is a monotypic species[1].

Swamps, wet agricultural fields; tall grasses near water.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of insects and spiders.
Breeding
A nest seen in the south of their range was a deep cup constructed from grass.
