• Red belly and lesser underwing coverts
• Blue thighs

• Bare white eye ring
• Brownish-grey bill
• Dark brown iris
  

Juvenile

• Green lower breast
• Green belly
• Horn coloured bill, pale grey at base

Distribution

South America: found from Brazil (western Pará, eastern Amazonas and Mato Grosso) to northern Bolivia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species^[1].

Habitat

Forest.

Behaviour

The diet includes fruit, berries and blossom.
