Identification
Length: 23–27 cm (10-11 in.)
- Iridescent dark green upperparts
- Red belly and undertail coverts
- Violet crown and nape
- White throat and chest
- Green, black and white wings
- Red bill, dark upper mandible
- Red iris
- Tail broadly flared
Males and females are similar but immatures are duller.
Distribution
Caribbean: found only in Cuba and the Isle of Pines.
