Identification
Pale and sandy coloured with a white throat.
Distribution
Xinjiang (China) westwards to Turkmenistan and possibly into Iran.
Taxonomy
Two subspecies recognized:
- C. m. margelanica north central China
- C. m. minula Breeds from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and central Iran east through northern Afghanistan and Tajikistan to western China; winters to the south
Margelanica is sometimes split as Margelanic Whitethroat[1].
Habitat
Deserts and woodlands.
