- Ash blue
- White belly
- Black patch between eye and bill, bordered with bright blue above and below

- Flight feathers edged with blue-grey
Distribution
Forested uplands of Sri Lanka.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Wet montane forest.
Behaviour
Breeding
It builds a cup-shaped nest, lined with moss. The clutch consists of 2-3 brown-spotted pink eggs.
Diet
The diet includes flying insects, beetles, caterpillars and berries.
