- Vireo nanus
Identification
Tail is slightly longer than most vireos, but frequently looks narrow.
Iris color variable, from grey to a whitish "staring" appearance (darker in younger individuals?). White to yellow supra-loral stripe and around eye. Upperside yellowish-green with two (often incomplete) wing bars. Underside washed yellow.

Distribution
Caribbean: found in Hispaniola and Gonâve Island
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Semi-arid lowland scrub and moist hilly areas, but absent from mountains
Behaviour
Seen both in low bushes and on the ground. Feeds from fruits and insects, sometimes even flycatching.
