Distribution
South America: found in the Andes of western Colombia to north-western Ecuador (Esmeraldas).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Restall writes that in the past, it has been placed in genus Buthraupis2.
Habitat
Cloud forest. Mostly observed around 250–1100 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of fruit and nectar.
