Identification
Length 15 cm (6 in); a large warbler with a short tail.
- Green back
- Grey crown, bordered by a distinct black eyestripe that extends around the back of the head
- Chestnut throat
Distribution
Southern South Sudan, northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, and northern Tanzania.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Montane and lowland forest, forest edge, thicket, gardens, and secondary vegetaion on abandoned fields.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of insects and invertebrates, including caterpillars, moths, grasshoppers and mantids.
Vocalisation
A loud, warbling song; this usually includes a repeated whee whee whee or wher cheee wher cheee.
