Hylophilus decurtatus
Identification
10 cm in length and weighs 9 g. Olive-green upperparts, pale grey head, white eyering. The underparts are white with a yellow tinge to the breast and some olive on the flanks. Young birds are duller and brown above, and have a buff tone to the sides of the head and the breast.
Its call is neeah-neeah-neeah-neeah and the song is chi chi cher cher cher cher chiri cher which cheri.

This species, has in the past, been placed in genus Hylophilus
Subspecies
There are three subspecies[1]:
Northern
• P. d. decurtata:
Eastern Mexico (San Luis Potosi) to Panama (Canal Zone)
• P. d. darienensis:
Tropical eastern Panama and northern Colombia
Gray-headed
• P. d. minor:
Tropical southwestern Colombia (Narino) to western Ecuador and extreme northern Peru
Habitat
Lowlands and foothills in forest canopy and edges.
Behaviour
It builds a deep cup shaped nest of leaves and spiders webs in trees. 2 brown marked, white eggs are laid.
Diet includes spiders, insects, small fruits and seeds.
