Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- A. c. canus:
- Western and eastern Madagascar (except range of ablectaneus)
- A. c. ablectaneus:
- Arid south-western Madagascar
Habitat
Spiny forests and forest edges, clearings; wooded savanna and scrub.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of fruit and grass seeds. Flocks have been observed feeding on flowers.
