Campylopterus falcatus

Identification

Blue throat and breast, green upperparts and belly, blue crown, chestnut tail. Females - grey underneath, blue throat. Black downward curved bill.

Distribution

Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

2 white eggs are laid in large cup nests on low horizontal branches.

Diet includes nectar, reached with its long curved bill and insects.
