Identification
Other names: Green Parakeet, Red-faced Lorikeet
15 cm, weight about 40-45 grams. Little or no difference between the sexes, although the male may sometimes have richer colouring.
Distribution
Eastern and southeastern Australia (Atherton Tableland to southeastern South Australia)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.[1]
Habitat
Coastal heath, open woodland and dry forests.
Behaviour
Diet includes nectar, pollen and fruits. Nomadic.
