- Brown facial disc
- White eyebrows
- Brown uuper parts with small darker mottling
- Lower nape has large white spots
- Deep grey flight feathers with white markings
- Brown tail with lighter and darker mottling
- Under parts are similar, but with white markings
- Orange-brown eyes
- Pinkish-grey cere
Greenish-grey bill with a yellowish tip
- Pink toes
- Horn-coloured talons horn with darker tips
Distribution
South America: found only in northern Peru (Amazonas and San Mart¡n)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Sub-tropical cloud forest.
Behaviour
It is mostly crepuscular.
Diet
Diet includes insects.
