Access and Facilities
The Reserve lies 218 Km north of the city of San Salvador de Jujuy. Taking the national route 9 north you'll find the town of Abra Pampa (Here you'll find also small lagoons). From here you must take provincial route 7 and after 50 Km you arrive at the reserve.
Coming from the northern city of La Quiaca you must take the provincial route 5 to the town Cieneguillas and then continuing with the provincial route 69 south. This route connects with the mentioned provincial route 7 near the entrance to the lagoon. From La Quiaca to the lagoon you'll drive 100 Km through the Puna.
Take as an advice that you won't find any shops in the most part of the puna. Only the bigger towns have stores and some of them hotel. At the lagoon you won't find any store or hotel.

The altitude above sea level isn`t 4000 m but around 3300 m. Pros
- Great for Andean waterbirds
Cons
- The access isn`t easy especially between Dec-Mar
